The 68th General Assembly of the European Welding Federation (EWF), the leading umbrella organisation in Europe for welding and joining technologies, was successfully hosted by the Gedik Education Foundation and Istanbul Gedik University.

Held with the participation of 32 international delegates from 16 different European countries, the meeting served as an important platform for discussions on Welding Engineering, joining technologies, education, qualification systems, certification, and sectoral developments. Throughout the General Assembly sessions, participants exchanged views on the current state of the industry, future-oriented strategies, international qualification systems, and the latest technical developments across Europe.

As the Gedik family, representing Türkiye within the EWF structure as the National Responsible Member since 2010, we were pleased to welcome EWF representatives to Istanbul. The strong dialogue established during the meeting and the productive exchanges contributed significantly to strengthening technical and academic cooperation opportunities between Türkiye and Europe.
